Download a copy of your data
Ask for an export of your account and conversations, and open it before it expires.
Ask for the export
- Open Settings and find Export Your Data.
- Choose Export Data.
- Read the confirmation — it says what is included and how long the link lasts — and confirm.
It is not instant. Processing takes a while, and you are notified when it is ready rather than having to watch for it.
What arrives, and where
A zip file, sent to your registered email address. Not downloaded in the browser — check the inbox for the address on your profile, and its spam folder.
Inside are four files, and this is the whole of it:
| File | What is in it |
|---|---|
conversations.json | Every conversation and every message in it |
attributes.json | What Orsola has learned and remembered about you |
tasks.json | Your reminders and scheduled jobs |
consents.json | Which terms and policies you accepted, and when |
What the export does not contain
Worth reading before you rely on it, because the account holds more than the export returns:
- Files. Neither the ones you attached nor the ones Orsola made for you. Download anything you want from your gallery separately.
- Meeting recordings, their audio and their transcripts.
- Phone calls, their recordings and summaries, and your texts.
- Expenses and budgets.
- Anything in Nutrition — meals, weight, water and your foods. Nutrition is kept apart from the rest of your data and has its own export, in its own Settings tab. Your settings, and your nutrition data covers it.
- Your connected accounts, and anything held in them — that data was never Orsola's to export.
- Invoices and payments. Those are on your Billing page.
It is an export of what you said to Orsola and what it remembered, rather than an archive of everything the account touched.
If that address is out of date, fix it on your Profile before requesting the export, or it goes somewhere you cannot reach.
The link expires after 24 hours
The download link stops working 24 hours after you receive it. That is deliberate — it is a link to everything you have said to Orsola, and a permanent one sitting in an inbox is a liability.
So: request it when you are ready to download it, not on a Friday evening. If it expires, request another; there is no penalty beyond waiting for processing again.
Requesting a new export invalidates any previous link. An older email will not work once you have asked again — use the newest.
If it does not arrive
- Check spam or junk, and check the address on your profile is the one you are looking at.
- Give it longer. A long history takes longer, and the notification comes when it is genuinely ready.
- Check you confirmed. The dialog needs confirming; closing it cancels the request.
Store the file somewhere sensible once you have it. It contains your conversations, and it is no longer protected by your Orsola password once it is on your machine.
Where to go next
If you are exporting because you are leaving, do this before closing your account — afterwards it is not available.
