Rename, tidy, or delete a conversation
Tidy up your conversation list, and what deleting one does and does not remove.
Rename a conversation
Open the conversation, open its menu at the top and choose Edit. Change the title and save. This is for the conversations you start, not the main Orsola chat.
New conversations are named from how they started, which stops being useful the moment there are more than a few.
Rename when you finish rather than when you begin — you know by then what it turned out to be about.
Tidy the list
Renaming is most of tidying. Beyond that:
- Keep one conversation per ongoing topic rather than starting fresh each time. Everything stays together and stays searchable, and Orsola keeps the context.
- Start a new one when the subject genuinely changes. Unrelated questions in one thread make both harder to find later.
- Delete the throwaways — the one-question experiments you will never look at again.
Delete a conversation
- Open its menu at the top and choose Delete.
- Confirm at Delete this chat? It does not name the conversation, so make sure you are in the right one first.
This cannot be undone and every message in it is permanently deleted. There is no recycle bin and no recovery on our side.
What deleting does and does not remove
| Removed | Kept |
|---|---|
| Every message in the conversation | Files in your gallery |
| The conversation itself | Meetings and their recordings |
| Scheduled jobs that were set up in it | |
| Anything Orsola did in the real world — sent mail, calendar events, files saved to Drive |
That third row surprises people: a scheduled job survives the conversation it was created in and keeps running. If you wanted the job gone, delete it from the Task agent — see see and change what you have scheduled.
Deleting a conversation does not tidy your gallery either. Files live there in their own right — your gallery of files, images, and recordings.
Before you delete a lot
If you are clearing out because you want a record of what was said, export first — download a copy of your data includes your conversations, and it is not available afterwards.
Where to go next
Find something you talked about before is usually a better answer than deleting.
